The world’s first Blue Destination and the 'B' in the Dutch Caribbean's ABC islands, Bonaire is well known as a diver's paradise. But a growing culinary scene, natural allure, and endless adventures add to what makes this lesser known destination a must visit for the well heeled traveler. Flamingo sanctuaries framed by salt pyramids, a commitment to sustaining ocean resources and a long list of inviting outdoor activities on land and sea, make this little gem a big draw for those who love the unhurried pace, unspoiled beauty and unforgettable coastlines of island life. Home to less than 25,000 people and zero traffic lights, Bonaire is instead filled with small villages boasting colorful architecture, abundant wildlife habitats, cacti and mangroves, and friendly locals sharing their rich culture and sustainable way of living.
